This summer, the plan was to work hard and do little else in order to save up money to go back to school this year.... I'm a Junior in college, and with car payments and stuff to make, it gets difficult!

So, not only do I work at a fabulous coffee house, selling coffee and other things with a smile, but I have been in a play.... It was written by Andrew Lloyd Weber, but because of "contracts," I can't put the full name ANYWHERE outside a 10-mile radius of where it is being performed (and yes, this includes the internet!). The initials are JCS, and one of the words may or may not be "Superstar."  It's been an intense show that has required a lot of practice. Since I'm not one of the principle characters, I've really had time to step back and see how much WORK it takes for someone to be in the ensemble! It is a LOT of work! I almost feel like people in the ensemble should be noticed more than people playing the main roles!

What's been a big problem for me in this production is that our director wasn't there for the first two months... And then when he got there, he was so disorganized that we didn't finish blocking even when we were just a WEEK before opening the show! (We just ran through the entire show for the first time last night, and we open on Thursday....) He also continually fought, yelled at, and frustrated the cast so much that a lot of them were going to quit the show! Needless to say, he was pulled and a new director put in, but it's been a hell of a journey to try to get to where we are now...

Now it's just trying to keep it together until Thursday!
